Just a heads-up: I was pulled aside and asked to show the 3 proofs (money, accommodation, departure flight) when I flew back into Thailand on a visa exempt after being on a non-B for 15 years (Don Mueang) 🤗

Yes, correct. He will not receive an actual visa, it will be an entry stamped into his passport and valid for 60 days. Can be extended for a further 30 days

you need a certificate from the police reporting it lost. That is your first step BEFORE going to immigration 🤗

You can apply for a 30 day extension on your 60 day visa free/exempt entry at an immigration office in Thailand. Cost is B1,900

fellow Saffa here. Please note you now have to do your initial application in South Africa at VFS Global or BLS (the latter "lost" my application and then sent my passport to another office so I would recommend VFS). The locations are listed on the Royal Thai Embassy site, and you can make an appointment 🤗
