wake up. there wont be anything more official than your local immigration office telling you and proceeding with exactly that…its same with all other things, every province, every office will handle things differently. there wont be a nation wide announcement by the head of immigration. you can expect that in a few weeks the first few experiences will be posted here.
i am beeing told by immigration officers, that for the extension i will have to hand over all documents as proof again. especially a fresh bank statement. for soft power you would most likely need a fresh course that isnt dated in the past.
i was told that i will have to re-provide all documents again in english or thai language. financial proof the most important. information from immigration officers. so not every office is silent about this.
it clearly states that its about money you bring in to thailand and not all foreign income. only money that was remitted to thailand.
educate yourself first before making wild claims here.
„If a foreigner derives income from sources outside Thailand, such income is subject to income tax if the two following conditions are met:
such income has been earned in any tax year starting from 1 January 2024 onward by a foreigner who stays in Thailand for 180 days or more in a tax (calendar) year, and;
such income earned has been remitted to Thailand (wholly or partially), even if that remittance occurs in a later tax year.“
i wonder how they will even determine how much money you brought into the country when you do not use a thai bank account. its even hard for me to tell. i would need to check all sorts of things.
its illegal as you always have to be outside of thailand to apply for the DTV. just do it yourself and save money and legal issues. its an easy process and literally only needs 3 documents…
