Australian citizen, just used my DTV for my second entry into Thailand.
Both times I've been interrogated about my accomodation in Thailand, and this time the immigration officer seemed quite hostile and asked me for exit date, if I have a Thai wife, if I live in Cambodia (that's the consulate I asked for my DTV), what was I doing in Cambodia, and if I'm working in Thailand.
Could I be doing something wrong to attract all this attention? I don't mind a few questions, but I thought I'd got a valid visa in accordance with Thai immigration rules.
So far it has caused more scrutiny than just using a visa waiver.
I'm an Australian citizen with a current Australian passport and financially self sufficient. Have travelled to Thailand many times extending my 30 day VOA by an additional 30 days for a total 60 day stay - always done at the Phuket or Pattaya Thai immigration offices.
For my upcoming trip I plan on staying 84 days total. Is there a visa available to total 90 days?
Or do have to do a "visa run" after 60 days?
I have had no info success on the nett and both the Thai Consulates in Sydney and Canberra don't answer their phones.
Any constructive help/direction would be greatly appreciated.
Can an Australian citizen still get a 12 month multi entry "Non-Immigrant Visa "O" (For the purpose of visiting family member of a Thai nationality, a spouse of Thai national)" at the Savannakhet Consulate without the need to show funds and without insurance?
I have visited Chiangmai many times and wish to apply for a “O-A” Non Immigrant Visa and am an Australian citizen currently living in Brisbane. I am presently awaiting legal matters to be settled and am wondering if I sent application papers to the Thai Embassy in Canberra and am approved, how long after issuance of visa, do I have to travel? Also, there seems to be a lot of paperwork involved in the process and am concerned that matters may be delayed if I make one small mistake filling out paperwork, I may have to resubmit. Could any Aussies please enlighten? Thanks!
