Have you ever been asked by an airline on the way to Thailand or at immigration at the airport in Thailand for a bank statement to see if you have enough funds?
I know it needs to stay in a few months on both ends, but if you take some out and need to re-deposit, does it again need to come in from my home country? Thx
Can the retirement visa requirement for a Thai bank account containing 800k THB also be the equivalent sum of Foreign Currency in a Thai Bank account, or must it be in THB only?
General (Covid unrelated) question: If one wishes to apply for his first and initial "retirement" visa (non-o/non-oa) with a Thai embassy abroad and is required to demonstrate compliance with relevant financial requirements, would he need to show that he has sufficient funds (Thai Baht) in a "Thai bank account" or could it also be an equivalent amount foreign currency in an account with a bank which is located outside Thailand?
Just saw this in another group. SCB Bank in Chonburi (possibly all of them) are suspending cash currency exchanges. If you have foreigner currency, I guess try a gold shop like they do in Vietnam. Not sure about superrich or the other booths.
Hello everyone! Firstly thank you, you’ve all been so helpful on my previous posts! We are nearly ready to book our mini sour east Asia trip, it will have to be 2 weeks Thailand, 2 weeks Vietnam then back to Thailand for final 2 weeks. Myself and 2 kids are british passport holders, my husband is fijian passport holder. Myself and kids get visa free entry both times but will need to show 40,000 thb entry, and husband 20,000 thb (twice) we don’t want to be left with loads of foreign currency, if we bring the amount in pounds sterling will that be ok? And can we change it when we are out there? Thank you 😊
