My wife and i plan on moving to thailand next year ( retirement ) first on a visa exempt ( we are from america ) then getting the non o visa once there, then extending it , my question is how do or can i open a bank account in thailand to deposit the 800000 for each of us on a visa exempt, or would it be easier to use a visa agent or agency. I already own a condo we bought 2 years ago.

I am an Australian citizen, aged 56, and my spouse is 50. We are currently in the early stages of applying for a Non-Immigrant Visa Type O Retirement Visa, which allows for a 90-day stay with the option to renew for up to one year. I would appreciate any insights from couples who have recently successfully obtained this visa.

HI. I am planning to retire to Thailand hopefully by August. I have gotten various answers from visa agents. I am confused as to the process. Do I start i the USA with the O-A visa and then go to IMM once I get a residence? So far I meet the financial requirement for that visa. And can I open the bank account once I get there? Also, anyone here who has moved with pets, I could really use some advice on a reliable pet transfer services. I am bringing my cats..Thanks so much for your help.

I'm visiting Chiang Mai in October and I am retiring in March, so probably moving there in June. I am going to (probably unsuccessfully) try and get a bank account in October. If successful, can I move some money a bit at a time with the remainder of the 800,000 baht transfered in May or Jine, or does it need to be 800,000 all at once? I can do either, but it would be cool to throw in a few extra bucks in when I have it so I don't have to do it all at once. Does that make sense? Lol. Thanks in advance for the answers.

Hi Guys, saw a comment on another forum recently, so I thought I would ask if anyone else has done this or if it's just BS.

Using an agent for RV who will use their own 800k and charge you a fee of 20-25k to do so.

I know it's super tight ass, but needing to hold 1.6mil in the bank does my head in a bit haha.

Can my mom change from a non-o to retirement visa? She used to hold non-o for medical purpose and later change to covid19.
