Good morning to all in Thailand. I am inquiring about visa requirements: is a physical therapy clinic categorized under the medical section of the visa or are specific requirements necessary for that section of the visa?
Sharing my DTV approval for HCMC soft power cooking.
Fri Jan 31.
Applied with passport pic, copy of passport biometric page, cooking documents provided by Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy, entry stamp into HCMC, VN hotel booking and 3 months of bank statement over 500k.
Feb 5.
Further documentations requested. They wanted 6 months of bank statements, employment certificate and income proof.
On the application I wrote that I was unemployed, as I quit my job recently. I gave them my tax return, a couple of pay slips and an end of service letter that my HR provided me when I left. I wrote a short letter explaining I currently do not have a job as I moved to Thailand recently and taking a career break (I have been living here for a month on a tourist exempt visa).
Feb 10.
Further documentations requested. They wanted more information on the school.
I emailed the school who helped me with some pictures. I took screenshots of their website and resubmitted all documentations that I had already given them (receipt, cooking timetable, acceptance letter, business registration, director ID).
Feb 17.
Approved.
Flew back to Thailand today with a print out of my dtv into Bangkok. No issues.
I did extensive research in this group before my application so I was quite surprised being asked for extra documents twice. I think the HCMC embassy is starting to get more critical on soft power and the process took 2 weeks for me because I had to supply more documents.
The Bangkok Cooking Academy was very helpful with my application, I recommend them.
Sports Training Success cases? Anyone have successful DTV approvals in the sports training category (so non Muay Thai training)? Did the gym/training facilitiy provide just a letter of acceptance or also other additional documents (i.e. business license, etc.)?
Hello, I am currently in Hanoi awaiting DTV approval. I applied Jan 23, they requested more documents 24th which I uploaded. I've just learnt that the office is closed for Lunar New Year. I have a stamp for Vietnam that is only valid until Feb 6th. I am really hoping this is enough time, but will I need to go to Vietnam immigration to extend the stamp in case it's not?
DTV approved for Thai soft power Muay Thai in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam. Submitted application Thursday January 2nd around 9pm, approval came today, January 9th at 3pm. No additional documents were requested. The gym I used was FITFAC in Bangkok.
I just got my DTV approved, but my visa came back with my name switched. We koreans only have a first and last name, no middle name. So i didnt fill this part. DTV comes out with my first name backwards. And even beforehand i had sent emails to visathaiembassy.kl @gmail.com to no reply and when i went to the thai embassy here the Malay lady just shouted at me saying she cant do jack 😭🥹 does anyone know what can be done? Or does anyone know where i can get a reply from?
Finally! DTV approved in Taipei via Workcation/Freelancer
It was more difficult than I anticipated but I managed to deal with the grilling and unexpected interview.
Applied in person last Friday morning, told to come back at 3pm for approval or rejection. On arrival 3pm was told the supervisor wanted an interview. After an anxious hour wait, the supervisor said she just wanted to clarify my employment. After a few mins of explanation and small talk she told me to come back today for the final decision.

Typed Application Form
Cover letter detailing reasons for applying.
Bank Certificate of balance in GBP with 500K THB conversion detailed. The officer was not happy with just the certificate and told me she wanted the see the balance transactions and would not process the application without the relative bank statements. I had to rush back to my hotel to print them out. Luckily, I chose a hotel a 10 min walk away.
Also submitted 2 other investment account statements with GBP balance/THB conversion.
Portfolio – CV, focused only on online employment, Client appreciation emails I received and a sample of work.
Submitted 3 contracts. One rejected as it recently started but no payment received. The officer wanted to see 6 months of payments from current work.
Contract 1 – Letter from the President supporting my application, certificate of employment, work contract.
6 months of bank statements with the salary deposits highlighted with a THB conversion. Company registration and company brochure. 2023 income and tax statement
Contract 2 – Certificate of employment, work contract. Company online work guidelines. 6 months of bank statements with salary deposits highlighted with a THB conversion. 2023 income and tax statement. Attempted to submit a company brochure but it was rejected, not sure why.
The original certificate of employment and contracts were in Japanese. English translated versions were also submitted which I did myself and were not notarized.
For those applying in Taiwan over the last remaining walk-in days be prepared to argue in a polite way your case.
Interesting news for content creators (the daring ones 😝 mostly): I've noticed some people in this group asking if this was allowed. Now, you might have your answer.
