Hello, as a French applying for DTV in Vietnam, I translated most of the documents in English, but what about the bank statement and my 6 months salary, it’s mostly numbers.. Should it be translated from French to English too ..?
Hello, i m preparing my documents for a DTV application and I have 5 contracts with customers of 5 pages each writen in French... Do I have to translate all the 25 pages in english with lawyer and notary ? Does someone can give me links for lawyer and notary to do it ? Thank you very much for your answers.
Approved today in Hanoi embassy (freelancer status),
I found it quite easy. I provided these documents:
- Financial proof (3 months of 500K BHT)
- 2 framework agreements with agencies I work for
The framework agreements were not in English, so I simply translated them with ChatGPT.
They asked me for 2 more things:
- passport stamp as proof of arrival
- registration document of an agency I work for
This registration doc was the most tricky part. I asked one of the agencies to send me the registration letter and they did that. However, as it was not in English as well, I translated it also with ChatGPT. The translation and formatting was the most time consuming part of the whole process.
I applied on 21st of January and it was approved today. Last week the embassy didn't work though because of Tet, so you could say that the whole procedure took one week effectively.
Thanks to the participants of this group for their activity, which helps in understanding the visa application process and answers many questions (I just used the search and didn’t have to ask anything myself).
I submitted my documents on the night of January 16 in Hanoi. The next day, they requested an entry stamp for my arrival in the country and a more recent bank statement (mine was issued a couple of weeks before submission).
On January 23, I received my visa.
After that, my wife submitted her application on the same day.
The next day, they requested a notarized translation of our marriage certificate (Fortunately, there is an embassy of my country).
We obtained the translation and submitted it just before the Lunar New Year (TET), but we got stuck for another week because everything was closed for the holidays.
This morning, on February 3, my wife received her DTV visa, and tomorrow we’re heading to our beloved Thailand.
Hi everyone, apologies if this has been answered before, I have used the search but didnt find the info I was looking for.
DTV in Hanoi or HCM
-do you recommend to apply in Hanoi or HCM?
-required funds: I read that bank statements for 6 months must be submitted but also heard from people transferring the required 500.00THB just before. Can someone shed light on this, please? How much money does have to be in the account and for how long? Is it okay if its not in just one account?
-translation of documents: I understand that any documents submitted must be translated into English. Do they need to be notarised or is a regular translation sufficient (for my freelance contracts and invoices, for example).
I plan to apply through Hanoi embassy and have mainly two questions:
- Should the financial proof include 3 or 6 months in the past? I keep seeing both numbers here.
- I apply for freelancer purpose. I have at least two contracts but they are in German. Is a translation mandatory? (I also have a portfolio website in English but I'm not sure if this is enough)
