For DTV visa with a Soft Power activity (invisalign)... would I need to pay for the service in advance to get a visa?

Or can I just get a reservation/price quote from an orthodontist, and show the treatment plan/price quote to the embassy?

I'm thinking of getting Invisalign in Bangkok to straighten my teeth.

And I'd want to get the Soft Power DTV visa for a few years while I do this.

I'd rather not pay thousands of dollars to an orthodontist until I am sure that my visa will be approved, though.

Hi, I am planning on doing my dtv soon and wanted to know whether on the visa that you have to show the immigration officer it states which type of soft power you registered for? And if you use a spefic gym is it then possible to switch to a different gym later on? Or is it possible to do a different type of soft power if you discover that muay thai is not for you😅, even though you when doing the application you did it under muay thai. Or does it simply state soft power and you can do whichever one you want when you want?

Hi All. Regarding the Thai soft power activities for my DTV.. will only enrolling my teenager in Muy Thai school qualify for getting my DTV, or does it have to specifically be me enrolling in Muy Thai classes, in order to qualify?

Has anyone successfully applied for DTV using the soft power related activity option , does the course which we signed up for be a 5-YEAR COURSE?

Also, are we ONLY limited to these 3 options for soft power related activity and stated in this website

[members only]

• Muaythai

• Thai culinary training

• Medical treatment

IS Learning Thai language not considered one of the options for the approved course ?

Must the financial evidence be in THAI BHAT ? It can be in our own country's currency, right ?

GPT summary:

The "Destination Thailand Visa" (DTV), introduced in July 2024, has seen significant uptake in its first six months. Initially targeting digital nomads, approximately 30,000 visas have been granted to remote workers. Additionally, around 50,000 visas have been issued to individuals engaging in "soft power" activities, such as enrolling in Thai boxing or cooking classes, or seeking medical treatments.

Initially, application processes varied, with some embassies issuing visas swiftly. However, from early 2025, procedures have become more standardized, requiring online applications. Despite this, individual embassies maintain discretion over specific documentation, particularly concerning the mandatory 500,000 baht (approximately US$14,000) bank bond.

The success of the DTV has prompted adjustments in other long-stay visa programs. For instance, the Thai Privilege Card has suspended its 50,000 baht enrollment fee and introduced a more affordable 5-year Elite visa. Similarly, the Board of Investment has lowered income requirements for its digital nomad visa under the 10-year Long Stay Residence program, focusing more on applicants' qualifications and potential contributions.

Overall, the DTV has broadened its appeal, attracting a diverse group of long-stay visitors to Thailand.

What does a gym need to do to be a valid DTV activity? Is there a registry or an official list of requirements or such?

I would love for my local climbing gym to be able to offer DTV.

If you have been approved for a Soft Power activity for example Muay Thai .

Do you have to start the Muay Thai as soon as you get into Thailand 🇹🇭?

Or can you just start in a few months once you have settled in ?
