Has anyone successfully applied for DTV using the soft power related activity option , does the course which we signed up for be a 5-YEAR COURSE?

Also, are we ONLY limited to these 3 options for soft power related activity and stated in this website

[members only]

• Muaythai

• Thai culinary training

• Medical treatment

IS Learning Thai language not considered one of the options for the approved course ?

Must the financial evidence be in THAI BHAT ? It can be in our own country's currency, right ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses the application process for a DTV visa using the soft power-related activities option, specifically asking if a course must be five years and if learning Thai is an approved option. The responses highlight that each embassy has specific requirements, and while the three activities listed (Muay Thai, Thai culinary training, medical treatment) are provided by the Singapore embassy, other courses might or might not be accepted based on the respective embassy's discretion. Financial evidence is likely acceptable in any currency, but this may vary by embassy.

Obviously if the Embassy you are applying through is Singapore and they only list 3 soft power options then that is what they will approve.

Each embassy has its own specific requirements, which we’ve seen through handling hundreds of applications.

If you’re looking to extend your DTV visa from within Thailand, you’ll need to meet the same requirements as your initial application. Because of this, some people opt for border runs instead.

We can assist with both extensions and first-time applications if needed.

If applying on your own be careful as some programs will not issue you the correct documents to satisfy these requirements because they may be unaware. In those cases make sure to reach out with the embassy before signing up to a course.

You must get the answer to these questions from the embassy you will be applying at. Each embassy sets their own requirements. Some might accept a 1-week course, some might accept a 1-month course while some might accept a 6-month course.

Which courses are and are not acceptable is determined by your embassy.

Financial evidence should be fine any in any currency, but may vary by embassy.
