Do I need to specify the type of soft power when applying for my DTV visa in Thailand, and can I change activities later?

Hi, I am planning on doing my dtv soon and wanted to know whether on the visa that you have to show the immigration officer it states which type of soft power you registered for? And if you use a spefic gym is it then possible to switch to a different gym later on? Or is it possible to do a different type of soft power if you discover that muay thai is not for you😅, even though you when doing the application you did it under muay thai. Or does it simply state soft power and you can do whichever one you want when you want?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the requirements for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, specifically regarding the soft power activities. The original poster wants clarification on whether the visa specifies the soft power activity registered and if switching activities or gyms is permissible. Comments suggest that while some visas might mention the activity, it is generally accepted that changing to another approved activity or gym is allowed. However, continued participation in soft power activities is needed, especially if seeking certain extensions.

Are you serious 555 The gym doesn't care you paid them the money so go or not they are ok. It is an impossible task for immagration to check everyone. You don't have to do anything once you have the visa go out and come back in 6 months fine.

Once the visa is issued it’s good for 5 years haven’t heard of anyone being asked if they completed there soft power classes

if you seek 180 day extension inside Thailand, Thai Immigration Officers are requiring proof of your ongoing Soft Power activity.

Most DTVs just state employment prohibited in the remarks. But some do say what you applied under like this one.

I would say it's always better to have an ongoing activity, and I don’t see why someone genuinely interested in soft power activities wouldn't be able to switch. You're fulfilling the purposes of your visa afterall.

Depends on the embassy if they make a notation regarding the activity or business name. And yes there is no reason why you couldn't switch to an approved/appropriate alternative activity, especially considering that most session/trainings are about 6 months maximum. But ultimately who knows how passport control officer will react to your entry.

Anonymous participant in a word, no.

Anonymous participant Less and less likely. Some embassies refuse it. They consider you could do it on exemptions.

Anonymous participant In that case they would point you towards a 60 day Tourist visa.
