A friend is coming to Thailand at the end of the month on visa exemption and has just realised her passport expires within 4 months since her entry in the country. She only plans to stay for 3 weeks on holidays and has a ticket back home.
I believe Thailand does not apply the “6-month validity” rule but simply requires for the passport to be valid throughout the stay.
I highly doubt she would have any issues at immigration once in Bangkok but the airline might refuse boarding. So I am looking for an official source stating that the passport only needs to be valid for the duration of the stay. Any leads on where to find it?
Thanks!
P.s. she has already applied for a new passport but might take too long.
I have 3 years validity in my passport, if I apply for the dtv visa now( 5 years validity), would there be any problems when I renew my passport later.
We are about to apply for dependent visas for our children from my DTV visa. They have 1 year and 2 weeks in their passports. Is the required 1 year on a passport taken from when the embassy approves a visa or from when you arrive in the country and your passport is stamped with the visa? Thanks!
I will ask immigration when I go next month to pick up my visa extension but thought someone might know on here.
When applying for another year on my non-o (marriage) visa does immigration say there is a minimum amount of time left on the passport before it expires.
