Hoping to get some help/guidance with my prospective DTV.
I've been looking into ways where I can live and work from Thailand, I hit every qualifying point on the LTR visa except the minimum individual income requirements, I don't make $80,000 USD per year individually myself.
The DTV seems like the way, except it seems a bit confusing or I've been getting some contradicting information on it:
• I live and work in Canada currently (Canadian Passport Holder)
• My company trades on a major stock exchange and is headquartered in USA. It does allow me to work remotely.
• The company I work for has "entities" and cost centers it can open from various locations globally where it can allow me to transfer to and work from.
• Although I don't yet have $22,000 CAD saved to show in my bank (500K THB equivalent), I should be able to come up with this in short order - likely by April.
The issue or contradicting information I'm running into is whether I'd be able to qualify for the DTV based on my company credentials. As mentioned above, the company has "global entities" and cost centers they would open up for various locations globally. Currently the company does have a position they could transfer me to and have me work from the APAC (Asia-Pacific) Region. They would open a "cost center" for me in Thailand, and essentially I would be getting paid in THB while working remotely in Thailand. This is where I believe the trouble is, as in order to qualify for the DTV, the income I'm making would need to be coming from _outside_ of Thailand - is this correct? And if so, what signifies or defines that exactly? Income sent to my Canadian Bank account (regardless of what currency it's being deposited as)? A work certificate stating that I'm a Canadian citizen working for a USA corporation being paid in Canadian dollars versus THB?
I probably didn't explain the situation as best as I could here so please feel free to ask any clarifying questions to help guide me along with this 😊
I will also use this time to ask for any leads to a well respected agency that could help with my DTV application if anyone knows - thank you in advance!
I have a thai spouse… im too confused abt the visa. I want to do business in Thailand. I will come there on 17th so I think I have time to get the correct VISA on time.
I also have VISA on Arrival which is a tourist VISA which gives me 60 days to stay…
I'm a DJ planning to play at some commercial and non commercial events in Thailand. Do I need to apply for any type of work visa? Even if I choose not be paid?
Hello, I'm confused and needing advice because I cannot get confirmation from my employer atm.
I'm a teacher and am applying for the e-visa, Non-Imm B, from the UK. I have a 5yr old child who is coming with me. Do I apply for their Non-Imm O visa online beforehand? Is there a section to add their visa onto my profile? When I arrive my employer mentioned they'll need her birth certificate for something to do with my work permit. I'm just so confused at the moment. Thanks! 😊
How feasible is it to open a business with a Thai person, and then get an approved business visa within 6 months? I have been here since February. The best case scenario would be tom come back in August and do the same tourist visa process. Then my understanding is I can start the 4 month cycle over at the beginning of the calendar year? Whatever the case is, I am hoping to have the business sponsor me and be able to work here after. Thank you for any guidance. I am well aware of the risks of doing business here. It will be a relatively small investment.
So I am just reading on Thaiembassy.com Thailand-vis/Thailand-elite-easy-access-visa. The site states that this visa is perfect for singles, remote workers, etc.
It then goes on to say you cannot have a work permit.
What then is their definition of a remote worker?
If I work for my company in Thailand and I am only accessing European customers and getting paid as usual into a uk bank account am I classed as a remote worker?
I recently got my LTR visa (moving from Canada). Thanks to everyone who's helped me with my questions!
My next challenge is the Digital Work Permit (DWP). For those that got the LTR visa, did you go through with getting the DWP? Or is the LTR visa enough? Also what did you say when entering Thailand? Did you have to mention anything about working? Or can you say you're just visiting on vacation? Did you have to show your return flight ticket?
When I was trying to complete their form for DWP, it asks for the company number, but the company I work for is in Canada and it wasn't showing up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🙏
I need recommendations please for an agent who can take over a NON IMM B application from tourist visa and then work permit. Bangkok based please and district is Nonthaburi for processing.
