Hi any one on this forum can advise.. I lived in Bangkok for 20 years plus had a company and work permit ..I started drawing my Thai government pension two years ago but now I'm in the UK it stopped last month the reason being I have to show "proof of life" I've tried the embassy in London with no success anyone got any ideas of how I can show "proof of life" without having to fly back to Thailand at the moment as I'm planning that next year..any sound and solid advice will be much appreciated..
In preparation for the new LTR visa applications to open on September 1st, the Thai Embassy in Washington DC has published some information on their website.

They list their fee at $1600. At today's conversation rate, that's approximately 57,000₿
I find this incredibly unreasonable given the official fee for this visa is 50,000₿. I know embassies and consulates are notorious for giving bad exchange rates, but over $200 seems ludicrous.
At the webinar the BOI held last week, they said they were still in negotiation with immigration to allow people to receive the LTR inside of Thailand after pre-approval from the BOI. I sure hope they come to an agreement because that's definitely the route I'll take to save 7000₿.
Holy crap..... bought new Mitsubishi truck. Get called in as government rejected 1st passport photocopy, so we take new one in. Called again to collect new book, name spelt incorrectly. Sent back for change, comes back with passport number missing digits. Sent back again. Finally....or so we thought.... everything ok. Mitsubishi just called, they've put my date of birth as 20/01/2020, or as I would call it..... the date my passport was issued!!. Oh and apparently I've changed nationality to American from British. If only that part was written clearly on the passport page! At least Mitsubishi have taken pity on me and now deliver the book to me each time it's returned, I think they like my coffee. Rant over, enjoy your weekend
