Hi, my parents are ready to apply for a visa. They are 65 and have the required monthly income each of 65000 baht but not the lump sum of 800,000. They would like to spend most of the year in Thailand but return to NZ every year to visit family. They hope to do this for a few years. Some advice please on the best visa to apply for? The visa fees just went up a lot here in NZ which we didn’t expect but we have left it late so want to know the best visa to go for as the price is now $$$$! Thank you 🙏🏽
Hi thanks for admitting me. I read somewhere that instead of the 800000 baht deposit in a bank. That it's possible to show something like 60000 baht a month deposited over a year

Does American embassy notarize income from abroad for 65,000baht requirement for retiremnt visa?
If yes, doesnit need to go in for 12 months prior, or is that only if your embassy doesnt certify those funds?
On a side note im turning 50 in a year and want to do the easiest route to getring that type of visa…..
Side question: if i do have to deposit for 12 months prior, couldni spend the money after each monthly deposit? Ornwouldnit need to sit in there for specific amount if time?
I was told today by a Visa agent that if I get a “certificate” from the US Embassy showing my income from Social Security, I don’t need to have my SSI deposited in my Thai bank account to meet the financial qualifications for a retirement visa. Just curious if anyone in this group has ever gotten such a certificate from the US Embassy in Bangkok or the Philippines, or knows the procedure for doing so?
