TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of successfully traveling to Thailand from Australia but faced an issue when their Wise account was cancelled after transferring a significant amount of money. The community provides advice on contacting Wise, discusses potential regulations regarding large transfers, and suggests alternative banking solutions for expats in Thailand. There are concerns about whether the cancellation was due to fraud prevention measures and users advise reaching out to the London office for better support.
I don’t use any of these Apps or process since I was scammed. That’s what happened to me, once I transferred money my account was frozen. Thankfully it wasn’t a lot of money since I used it to test it out. So I do hope for your sake you’ve not been yet another victim of these arseholes…

If your money is not in your main account it won’t get recognized. That’s why I don’t use the Wise card anymore…just for transfers.

I think you will have more success with the London office. Never had a problem with them and they have always resolved any problems quickly. Good luck!
I got an email saying that account is paused and the next morning email saying account closed . Have tried to call Australian office but have changed the help number so just going around in circle . Maybe I'll try ringing the USA number for help
I've had one for years and never had an issue using it in Thailand for purchases. You get a good exchange rate direct from Mastercard and no extra fees from the bank.

I think the problem is that I loaded $7000 to wise ?
I think he just transferred money from his Australian bank to his Wise debit card account. Nothing transferred into Thailand except he carried the card in.
They have reputation for doing this. I have a Wise debit I planned to use in Thailand. It is loaded with Thai baht. Now I wonder if I can rely on it. These cancellations seem pretty random.
when I was scammed I had no answer from them at all. I received an email requesting details of my account so they could refund my money. I knew it was a scam since the way the message was written, ie very poor English and spelling … I realised it’s wise not to use anybody else other than my bank
