TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the requirement to visit immigration before leaving Thailand on a retirement visa with a single re-entry permit. Community members provide various insights, including the necessity of ensuring the re-entry permit is valid and emphasizing that failure to comply may lead to losing visa status. There are discussions regarding the option of obtaining a re-entry permit either at the airport or through immigration offices, as well as the potential costs associated with these procedures.

Will you be requiring a 365 day extension for this Non O visa ?

A trip to the IO is cheap insurance.

You should have posted the picture that you commented in an answer right in the post.

Then everybody would have told you that you do not have a re-entry permit and need to get one before leaving the country.

Either at the immigration or right before the passport checks at the airports.

On y'r picture, there is NO re-entry permit.

It seems you got a 90-days non-imm-O visa by way of “change of visa type” from Immigration inside Thailand

If you want to extend this to a 1-year stay permit, you need to apply for from up to 30 days before the 90 daysw stay permit expires

While you can buy a re-entry permit and exit Thailand, you need to be back in time to apply for the 1-year Extension of Stay Permit

You have entered, which is half and exit is the other half, if you leave thats the other half, end of retirement visa, you need a leave exemption form 1000buats from the airport you must look for the sign for it they are there

You have entered, which is half and exit is the other half, how long do you have left on the retirement visa ????
Colin *********
The question is how many time are you going to leave the country and how long is the life of retirement visa to run ,

Just go into airport and look for the sign it re-enter permit, or go to immigration office and ask for re-enter permit i think it about a 1000buats it so you do not lose your visa/yearly extention

I have a retirement visa with a rentry exit visa, but stamped on it says I.myst visit immigration before leaving

to paraphrase, it states “you have the visa but if you plan to leave the country you will need to visit immigration to get a re-entry permit because it also clearly states you don’t have a re-entry permit.” It also states your visa expires on April 23, 2025.

That is not a standard text in either the visa stamp, extension stamp or re-entry stamp.

Can you show this remark?
David *****
They can do it at the airport too

@Eric **************
that is just a standard retirement visa, do you have another stamp in your passport stating single or multiple re-entry permit??
Graham ******
@Eric **************
That is not a re-entry permit, it tell you that you need to purchase one before leaving to maintain your current Non-O Visa status and admitted to date otherwise it terminates when you exit

@Graham *****
so correct. I lost my Non-O 3 years ago because I was unaware of the re-entry permit rule. I won’t make that mistake again.
Stuart *********
Not really too sure what you’re asking here.

If you have a (single) re-entry permit then you can leave and come back and you’ll get the same date you’re already stamped for.

If you don’t have a re-entry permit you need to visit an immigration office to get one or get one at the airport just before you fly out.
