Let me share a strange case !
I applied for DTV at Vientiane Embassy and got approved today, but the visa type issued is 'Tourist TR' with multiple entry instead of DTV. I applied for DTV and also paid the visa fees set for DTV.
Do embassies have the rights to give out whatever type of visa they want to without my consent?
Have anyone experienced a similar case? Please share your knowledge on that case if u have any, and kindly leave suggestions for me.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user experienced a situation where they applied for a DTV visa at the Vientiane Embassy, but received a Tourist TR visa instead, with multiple entries. They sought to know if embassies can issue different types of visas without consent. Responses from the community indicated that it's not uncommon for embassies to issue a different visa type based on their discretion, often when applicants do not meet certain requirements. Others shared similar experiences, suggesting that being issued a different visa might be better than outright denial. The discussion highlighted the need to understand the embassies' rights in the visa issuance process.
