Hi guys, this is probably going to be a bit of a stupid question but ii have never planned or done a trip like this before.

I am planning on coming to Thailand from the UK at the end of this year / early next year for a 3-4 month stay. I have been told I should get a 60-day tourist visa (if anyone could link me where to apply for this it’d be much appreciated) then go to the consulate and get a 60-day extension.

Before I apply for this visa do I have to have anything booked? or can I apply for the visa then book everything after??

The tourist visa gives you 60days + 30day extension. You can apply on line for an evisa which is returned to you by email then you have 3 months to activate it.

You apply for an evisa from the RTE London. It gives you 60 days and you can apply for a 30 day extention at your local Immigration office in Thailand.

There is no 60 day extension for tourism.

If you want to stay for 4 months you'll need to leave and re-enter the country after 3 months by visiting a neighboring country.

A tourist visa is for 60 days and then you can get a 30 day extension by visiting your local immigration office in whatever province you're in (there are no Thai consulates inside Thailand, that doesn't make sense).

This will give you 90 days total, so for the extra month you'd have to leave and come back on visa exemption and be stamped in for another 30 days.

they were probably referring to the covid extension, that is 60 days in duration. You cannot apply for it before applying for the 30-day extension and it’s being discontinued next month anyway.
