Visa help please . From the UK.

A elderly friend of mine has booked hotel and flights for a 63 day stay . he hasn't booked through a agent so now needs to apply for a 90 day Visa,

Can this be done online and if so would someone mind posting me the correct link, he has asked for my help but I'm not very tec savvy 😁, many thanks 😁

Could always get a visa exception at Airport arrivals in Bangkok and apply for an additional 30 day at any immigration office just before it expires Very easy to do.

When that’s about to expire do a border trip get a 15 day visa land crossing gives him 75 days altogether

Little paperwork involved and a lot of agents in Thailand will organise the border crossing for him

 A Visa Exempt entry is always 30 days by air, land or sea.

You obviously didn’t read my post

I said get a 30 day visa exemption on arrival and then extend it at the local immigration office

When the extension visa has expired go to a border crossing by land and come straight back which gives 15 days

Now tell me which part did you not understand 🤔

I use the Thai visa web site. Very simple and efficient. You can just photograph and upload documents directly. From memory it’s about £150 but then it’s done with

If your friend is not very savvy it would be better if you were to help him get a Non-O (retirement) Visa to get him a 90 day entry stamp and not have to worry about going to Immigration for an extension while there.

 To apply for a Tourism extension it can usually be done with less than 30 days remaining on the entry stamp (a few offices 45 and a couple as little as 7). These are the general requirements -

 , I applied for 60 days visa too. It was approved in 5 days and i sent copies as proof of a rtn flight 90 days from arrival in Thai.

As visa is only 60 i will go to airport with a cheap out ticket within the 60 days. I plan to extend so ticket will be cancelled, its really just for show.

I will extend whilst inam over there maybe with 30 days left on visa .

the 90-days Non-imm-O retirement visa is NOT supposed to be used for tourism purposes. Your friend should instead apply for the 60 days single entry Tourist visa which can be extended for further 30 days on Immigration inside Thailand for a 1900.- THB fee

 there's no reason not to use a 90 day non-O if it would satisfy the entire required stay. There's no requirement to extend and he can just get another one later on if he needs it.

 in case the "elderly friend" is over 50 of age, has got the financial proof, he might of course be better of to take up a health insurance (needed) and all the other fuss, compared to the no frills tourist visa.

 the health insurance requirement for a non-O is easily covered by even the most basic travel insurance which everyone should have anyway

 Well, the financial proof for the application to a 90-days Non-Imm-O Visa for "my elderly friend" is pretty high.

“Financial evidence e.g. A copy of a pension statement (more than £200/week) if the applicant is a pensioner and a copy of a 3-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or a 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000”

For an application to the SE Tourist visa, there is no more financial proof to be made (at least inside Europe, starting on October 28) Applied for at the Royal Thai Embassy London, the financial proof is just £500
