HI everyone, thank you for letting me in this forum. I did try the Bangkok expat forum but I only got snide comments and insults.... I really should have known better...
Anyway, here it is. My wife has a work permit that expires on July 23 and a non B visa until December 22 this year. Every 90 days she has to exit and come back in the country. That worked well until Covid.
We have all the paperwork to renew the work permit but they do not want to do so until she has the correct stamp in her passport. Her last stamp, she should have gone out on May 13.
She went to Chaeng Watana beginning of May and was told there is no need as she was part of the amnesty announcement. She then went again on May 12 as she wanted to make absolutely sure. Same answer again.
This week, she went to Chaeng Watana and was told that she had to go out, not even being sure she can find a flight and actually come back without having to go through 14 days in a quarantine hotel or pay tea money (not a small amount) to get the stamp her passport. This seems very unfair as we have done everything possible to make sure we stayed on the right side of the law.
Anybody else encountered the same situation?
