For admins...also you need a new letter every month they said. So in theory if you get the extension and next month you can not get a new letter, you also can not switch to an ed visa, thus you would be forced to leave the country. 

So better to apply for long term visa this month, instead of getting extension because next month cant get long term visa

Okay, we're done. At this time NO ONE knows if you can get another embassy letter and apply for a new 30 day extension after this one runs out in Oct or not.

So seeing as it's 100% speculation (as even the immigration officers don't know the answer yet) I'm shutting this down..

Thank you for the heads up. *I* believe once you take the amnesty extension based on the embassy letter, there is *NO* option to convert it to another type of extension of stay or visa without leaving Thailand.

what about Elite? There are many people waiting for approvals still. If extended 30 days do you think they would affix elite? I tried to ask elite but they couldn’t say for sure.

they're the people you need to be talking to. Other than the elite staff only the immigration office that will put the sticker in your passport will know if you can or can't get the elite visa (and the year stamp from it) while on the 30 day embassy request extension this time around.

Unfit to fly now, receive 30 days for medical reason - then - can I convert to ED visa?

Medical is the same. Once you take that route you can’t swap, so when your medical treatment is over, there are no other visa options for you and you must leave the country.

. I think once your hospital treatment is finished you're expected to leave? The extension is only for the purpose of treatment/operation/recovery.

yes with the Australian embassy situation you have to register and be willing to take a repatriation flight home to get the letter from them.
