I received my documents from the US embassy so I will be getting married officially next week. I also just put 400k in my account here. I assume that I will need to wait two months for the money to age which will take me to September 26th or so. My thinking is that I can get a 60 day extension of stay which will give me time to process the visa.

Do you see any issues with this plan?

*currently on amnesty after ED visa expired in April

Tod, thanks. In regards to my ED visa. I am really not sure. As I mentioned back in April, I made an attempt to get the 30 day covid extension "under consideration" stamp, which they gave me but then called me back in an hour later, canceled the stamp, gave me my money back and told me that I was on amnesty.

I remember the immigration officer and he would probably remember me (in a good way).

Maybe I should try to speak with him about my status?

IF you went straight to amnesty FROM the Ed visa extension you would only be changing the reason for your extension from previously being education to being married to a thai.

BUT go talk to the immigration office and see if you can just apply for the yearly extension when your funds are seasoned.

You DO NOT need a new Non-O visa or anything if you can

You will NOT be getting ANY "visa", you were on an ED visa extension (which you hopefully canceled and not just let run out) then you went to amnesty AND if you can meet the financial requirements (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply) you should be able to apply for a yearly extension based on marriage.

I'd say you MIGHT need the 60 day visit family extension OR your money MIGHT be seasoned enough by the time this new amnesty runs out Sept 26th
