TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the user's successful application for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Laos, highlighting the smooth and quick three-day process. Commenters ask questions regarding the applicability of obtaining a DTV from other countries, such as Vietnam or Laos, and express concerns about the changes in consular services and the upcoming switch to an online eVisa system.
No we own businesses so we took the Digital Workers / Business Owners route

So are you from Laos? Or another country getting the dtv? We would like to visit Thailand and if we enjoy it we were planning on staying so when we do the extended . Can we go to another country and request a dtv ?
Or do we have to go back to our country . I have seen that you have to . And I've seen a ton of others go to Vietnam, laos, Taiwan to get the dtv . Just curious
I’m American. We had our education visas first but we felt the DTV fit us better, since we both have our own businesses and work remotely… so we canceled our education visas and went to Laos and applied. Once we got it we just came back.
yeah it was a complete drag and my husband gets sick everytime we go. But super grateful to have it and have the process behind us

Congrats on the visa but answering questions isn't gonna really help anyone that much 🙁
There are no appts open for either consulate in Lao (Savannakhet or Vientiane) and they stop accepting applications Friday until they switch over to the eVisa online portal Jan 1 2025
