Just received my DTV from Thai embassy  London,  based on learning Thai at a language school.  All other conditions met, total time seven days and that was after supplying further documents that they requested......😊

What school did you enrol in please? I was going to go with the Mauy Thai option and just use the gym to train but also take Thai lessons. Prefer the Thai school option for DTV.

I asked the language school if they would be okay with me answering questions like yours....they had no problem at all....BUT , they were concerned...due to all the negative comments on this site and other visa sites stating categorically that language is not a soft power option, that staff at the embassy in London may have some comeback.

From comments on here it appears I am the only person in the world that got DTV based on learning Thai language . So I hope you understand my reluctance to divulge the school.

Having said that, all I did was Google language schools in Bangkok...if you go this route make sure the school has a government licence/approval.

you are wrong. There is wording on adverts saying "education and seminars" as learning Thai cooking and Muay Thai could also be obtained on a ED visa.

I have got my DTV same way, I have booked numerous 30_60 day modules that are spread out.

The DTV has virtually made the ED and O visas redundant. Everyone's moving onto DTV

Yeah it is not. I think this is a mistake. The DTV is not for studying - that's the ED visa.

I have just been reviewing all threads on soft power. I see you didn’t want to divulge the name of your school. Do you know where I can find a list of accredited/registered schools that meet criteria for the DTV. You mention that they requested more documents from you. I didn't make the rules. The DTV softpower category includes cooking, boxing, medical apts etc... it does not include studying Thai because that falls under the Education visa. So what is your question?
