What have people’s experiences been with processing times for DTV from the LONDON consulate?
I will be there for 12 days before flying to Thailand.
Enough time to get approved?
Thanks 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
Experiences with processing times for DTV visas at the Thai consulate in London vary, with some applicants receiving their visas within 48 hours, while others took up to a week. Many noted that additional document requests can extend the processing time. It is suggested that 12 days should be sufficient for approval, especially if documents are submitted correctly on the first attempt.
Mine was all done under 48 hours from London - but I triple checked my documents and made sure I submitted everything the first time. Digital nomad option via my UK Ltd company.
The status moved from document check to waiting for approval after two or three hours. All complete about 24 hours after that.

Applied on a Wedneday evening and was asked for further documents on the Thursday morning, sent the documents Thursday afternoon and received the visa Monday afternoon. I should add - Ltd company owner working remotely.
letter from company explaining nature of work and the fact I gives me the freedom to work remotely, evidence of employment so I gave my p60 from last year and gave annual return to show ownership.

thanks. i have an affiliate website so no employer, but i got a letter from the company in USA on headed paper to say i am an affiliate for their USA company. will also show affiliate account payments page, paypal receipts from those affiliate payments and registration of my domain name. hopefully will be enough. no business registration.
Hi James. I hope you don't mind answering this question. Are you a sole trader freelancer who does self assessment? I have one main customer who I do freelance work for but no contract with them as I'm self employed. I am wondering if the embassy will still try to get me to ask my client to provide evidence that the work I do for them can be done remotely?. I suspect not, because my client is not my employer? Do you know or is anyone else in a similar position? Thanks
hi, i'm the 100% owner of a LTD company and have accountant do my accounts of which I didn't need to show as had a P60 . I'm not sure what they will ask you for, however the most important thing for them to see you are employed and can work remotely along with the 11k savings it seems. Can you prove employment through your latest p60?
Thank you. You don't have a P60 when you are self employed as a sole trader cos you are not an employee of anyone or any other company. I make income from multiple streams and people pay me for my service.

I declare the income through self assessment tax return and then pay my own tax and NI
that's probably going to be enough (showing a tax return) a long with a letter from yourself. After applying they let you know what further docs they need and the there will be a few options of each thing they are looking for. If you are legit I don't think it's very tricky tbh.

My boyfriend’s application was processed in 6 working days.
On the second day - They asked for more documents.
On the fourth day - We submitted the documents they requested.
On that a lot of people has applied recently, and the waiting times have increased dramatically, all around the world, at the embassies using the e-Visa system.

My bet is that people who got it faster, is the people who applied earlier, before the current "wave" of applications.

On a side note, I applied on August 26th (not in the UK, tho), and it's still just sitting on "Pending document check (1)" ever since.
