I've NEVER had so much paperwork to prepare for a trip before! It's especially challenging when you're not in an urban area and in a country that's actively trying to make it difficult and inconvenient to travel. But I think I finally have all my ducks in a row and I'm ready to fly out tomorrow. My final paperwork looks like...

* Qatar Airlines "COVID consent form"

* Qatar luggage tags

* Qatar e-tickets & boarding passes

* Passport (with visa stamp by local Thai Embassy)

* Fit-2-Fly medical certificate (Dr. Donna)

* Negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours of flight

* Thailand Certificate of Entry (COE)

* T8 form

* Thailand Customs declaration form

* list of gifts being imported with values, just in case

* proof of post-ASQ stay accommodation

* COVID insurance policy for duration of stay

* ASQ hotel reservation confirmation

* Downloaded Thailand Plus app

* A cool cloth to hold to my forehead to relieve the tension! 🤪

 The only significant extra cost is the ASQ hotel stay. The rest is fairly negligible.

Depends which ASQ hotel you choose (there's quite a range). Other fees were minimal-- the RT-PCR test ($150), COVID insurance (I think I paid $130 for), visa from Embassy ($50 + photo, return postage)... so I'm guessing under $400 + your hotel?

 i am from Cymraeg, not that it makes any difference Thailand has a lot of labour orientated industries in factories where people are in close proximty to each other.

But in answer to your original question it doesnt need your money if you are not going to play by the rules. Lots of people want to and do. And as for what is happening in the States dont think anyone outside america really cares anymore.

I arrived on Qatar airways on Wednesday and I was prepared for the worst with lots of copies of everything all nicely organized in a folder, but the whole airport process was very smooth and efficient. I had downloaded the Thailand plus app but nobody asked to see it. At the first checkpoint I was asked for my passport with visa, and one copy of RT-PCR, COE, Covid insurance certificate, T8 form, ASQ hotel confirmation & T6 form (given on flight). They check the details thoroughly then you are given them back to carry with you to the next checkpoint. They checked my temp once on the forehead and this is written on the T8 form. When you get through immigration and collect your bags, you are met outside customs by the final checkpoint who very quickly get you into your hotel transport. The whole process only took around 30mins max, and no bag checks at airport or hotel. All in all it looks like they have streamlined the process and made it very efficient. What I can’t say is what happens if you haven’t got all the paperwork!!

Be prepared for the document check in Doha -they reviewed the COE and insurance evidence before allowing entrance to the gate area.

Just a quick note, make sure to keep your boarding pass for the flight into Thailand. They checked everyone’s on my flight and most everyone I have spoken too. I usually toss mine.
