Can anybody provide comprehensive and accurate guidance on the DTV please? I am reading conflictive stuff across different sources.
What are the various options? Nomad working, Education (Muay Thai, etc), the others?
What are the fees and does this fee only apply to applicant who can then bring their spouse and dependents at no extra cost?
I would appreciate getting the facts please š

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa options include nomad working and educational programs like Muay Thai. However, guidance is conflicted, as each embassy sets its own requirements. Fees are applicable per applicant, and dependents must apply separately, generally incurring additional fees. Some embassies allow sharing the financial proof for dependents, while others do not.
As a spouse of a DTV holder, one can also apply for a DTV. You have to pay a separate fee for that spouseās application and submit and application (with the documents required)
10,000 baht per person. But there's only a few embassies in the world where you'll actually pay that much. Vientiane and Savannakhet. That's because those embassies actually accept Thai baht for payment. Every other embassy charges in the local currency at an exchange rate that actually has you paying hundreds of dollars more in most cases.
No, no one can provide a comprehensive and accurate guidance for the DTV, because each embassy makes their own rules and requirements. What is correct for one person might not be correct for the next person. You need to get the answers directly from the embassy website that you will be using to process your application.
The options are whatever the embassy you are applying at will accept.
The fee is per person. The first person applies, pays, receives their DTV. Then the dependents can apply each individually using the DTV of the sponsor as proof of the documents, and paying for each application. Some embassies require each application to have their own 500,000, and some allow children to utilize the same 500,000 as the parents. It's up to each embassy's policy.
Brandon Thurkettle this is slightly different to how Hanoi was for us. We applied together, 1 remote worker and 1 dependent spouse. Processed in one appointment and Approved together at the same time.
That said; Hanoi is shortly doing Online E-visa applications ONLY. So new experiences may differ
Brandon Thurkettle unfortunately I can't remember where that was, but I believe it was 1st October or similar, and the processing time was expected to go from 3 days, to up to 30 days.
I was in Hanoi, at the time of learning this information about 2 weeks ago
