TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion reveals that quotes for obtaining a DTV visa from agents can be extremely high, with some citing prices around 63,000 THB. However, many in the community recommend that individuals undertake the application process themselves, which they claim can be completed for around 10,000 THB with minimal effort. Participants emphasized the availability of free advice and guidance online, particularly on platforms like YouTube, making the DTV application seem straightforward. Various insights regarding necessary funds and documentation were also shared, with a general sentiment that prices charged by agencies are often exorbitant compared to the actual processing costs.
It takes a couple of hours and lots of free advice available so why pay?

What’s a crazy price?

The application process is simple and easy. Most of the work you is getting your documents and uploading them. Took me a single morning to complete the process.

DTV is roughly 200usd and you’d need to show you have about 15k usd in your savings accounts. Also need to show you’re working and not coming to get a salary there; can also be traveling for Thai classes of the sort
yeah, you gotta be covert if you're gonna game the system. There definitely are people out there pulling a fast one, but they're not exactly going to be open about it on social media.
Some people are just going to have to put boots on the ground and find their own cheat code or strategy guide, because people arent keen to be loud about it on social and honestly I'm glad that they aren't broadcasting the methods on here.
it cost me 54k for flight, accommodation for 10 days, DTV Fee, visa for Vietnam, and Muay Thai package. Why tf would I waste an extra 41k??? If you’re broke I could see why you need a crooked visa company to dump funds in your account for a few months.
Properly? All I can see when someone says they can get you a 10,000 baht visa for 95,000 baht is SCAM in very big letters. But.......some people are ok with being scammed, I'm just not one of them
There is 63k THB DTV package I saw. Idk if they should be trusted but there are good reviews and proof posts. I asked them how they do it and they said they provide soft power documents and even bank statement. But still 63k is expensive. I do my own and cost 30k THB.

63K THB is still cheaper than the required 500K THB equivalent sitting in an account for months. If they provide the statements, I'd pay that. Education visa and language school enrollment is about 40 to 50k THB for a one year visa, so 63K is a steal for 5 years... Mind PMing me the agent?

Anonymous participant 148 does that include opening a bank account for you?
2-3 hours on my phone filling in the application and getting all 4 documents together, $600 AUD, and 4 days wait and I had my DTV 🤷♂️ if your computer illiterate or up for spunking cash away ฿80,000 ($3,580AUD) may be well worth it. 😂
I'll be doing mine next year in Australia. Very easy. I've been living in Thailand for almost 25 years, have yet to pay one single baht to a scamming agent!
just received mine from Canberra Embassy last month while I was down for a short trip to Oz, like you said was an easy process and very quick on approval.
It is not for me. If I want DTV it is simple to do oneself. Using an agent for this is a mugs game as it is straightforwad. In fact it could end up like the Ed and Volunteer as agency I enquired with you did not need to complete the Soft Power activity.
I'm well aware you don't. I only saw this ad and saved it a few days ago to illustrate the levels of stupidity that foreigners are prepared to go to. The funniest thing to me is these "digital nomads" are supposed to be raking in the money, but so many can't show a miserable 500k in their home country bank account!
If I was going to apply personally I woukd avoid the locations the agents are using. Those with long memories will remember when visas from a certain Consulate were cancelled en masse back in late 90s due to irregularities. It involved a certain visa agency in Suk Soi 23 Bangkok
quoted similar when I enquired about my bounce with DTV! They misunderstood what I wanted! There is an agency here who does for approx 27k though but does not help with money or docs just puts it all in for u and deals with embassy
