Has anyone had delays when applying to Madrid for the DTV visa? I applied a month ago and have heard nothing from them.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported applying for the DTV visa at the Madrid embassy a month ago, experiencing delays in processing. Comments indicated that the embassy is currently busy and only processing visas for February and March, leading to concerns about timely approvals for April applications. Others noted that the Madrid embassy is known for being slow and strict with visa applications, while one user confirmed that they provided proof of residency when applying.
We just got through on the phone and they said they are very busy. Currently only processing visas for Feb/March and our is for April. It'll be tight but hopefully it will come in time. Thanks all.

I live in Spain, but I'll apply either in Vietnam or the Philippines. I heard already that the Madrid embassy can be slow and strict.

From their website, it sounds like you have to be a citizen or a resident of Spain or Andorra to apply via this embassy. Are you a citizen or a resident? (Non-Thai nationals, including citizens of Spain and Andorra, and other nationalities with residence in Spain and Andorra, who wish to apply for a Thai visa must apply and submit the application through the new online e-Visa platform)
Thanks, yes they just replied to one of my emails but completely ignored what I actually said. I said I applied over a month ago and have had no response. They said I would get a PDF and that it should take three weeks and to apply no more than three months in advance? I wasn't asking for general info, but rather whether they had received the application. We just tried calling them again now and no answer. Will keep trying. It is frustrating as we have flights booked, house booked, car booked and so far they seem to be a very difficult embassy to engage with.
