Fyi...Microsoft announced that the 21-year-old calling and messaging service will shut down May 5. The software company is encouraging Skype users to migrate to its free Teams app.
Download text now. Register it with a USA number and call direct through it. It will give you a number people can call. Use for banks etc all the time..
my armband is Red, White and Blue old man. No mourning going on here. America is doing just fine. Moral influence in the world? That's not America's job you dolt. America FIRST.

Actually it is terminating in may of twenty twenty five and being replaced by what they're calling microsoft teams. It's a little confusing to decide which plan you want. But I just started looking into it, but they do.Have an international calling plan which will allow you landline and mobile phone access.
Wayne ********
You can.
Use Skype and take the u.S a add on it's like three fifty a month that will allow you to call landlines. however skype is going to be no longer available as of may twenty twenty five

I use Google Voice.
I set it up while I was here (in Thailand). I had to use a friend's cell phone number and I already had a google voice number. I think, it maybe one google voice number per cell phone number, so I wouldn't be able to use my friend's number if she was using google voice already.
Google voice works for most things, every once in awhile it won't work for verification stuff.

I maintain a US cell phone line and use WiFi calling to do banking.

When you get through to them... Don't tell them you received a dose on your travels 👌
I have Ooma which is a VOIP (voice over internet service) for my home phone in the US. It is very cheap, only a few dollars a month. (I pay an extra $5/month for up to 500 free minutes to almost any phone in the world.)
Then I load the Ooma app to my cell phone and adjust the settings so that any call to my home phone also rings my cell, just as long as my cell has internet connection. In Thailand, I buy a cheap Thai SIM card which gives me internet connection, so I can then both receive calls from the US and MAKE calls TO the US for free from my cell phone in Thailand.
Finally, I forward my US cell number to my US home phone (Ooma) number, so any calls to either my US home or my US cell number ring through to my cell in Thailand and I can use my cell with a Thai SIM card to call almost any number in the world for free.

Skpye. You can just log on, pay a few dollars into an account & make overseas calls for pennies. I use it to call US banks, government offices, etc.

Skype user, pls check below link. Looks like skype is shutting down and switching over to MS team.
I use my USA based phone on my home or office WiFi calling. Pretty well encrypted. Very inexpensive. Of course, no extra charge for phone, text, data. Wow.

I use a free VPN (Proton VPN) that is connected to a number in the US, sometimes you have to keep changing servers to get a US server, then I use Google voice and it's free. Both items are free

Agree with many above, Skype gets through to banks, businesses easily. Very inexpensive
I use Skype and the best part is 800 numbers are free which is great when calling government or bank numbers and being put on the dreaded hold with elevator music in the background 😝
Are you talking about the 112 billion that were invested in the US military while the Ukrainians were given ammunition and vehicles from the 80es and 90es?
Who said the Ukrainians should receive ANY assistance or money from USA tax payer money. It's not Our war. Ukraine is corrupt as hell. Get off Zelensky's nut sack you 🤡
No. They were also FUNDED with cash and used contemporary weapons as well.
Thomas ******
everything from the US has been disposals. You have made money from Ukraine. It’s much more cheap to send your shit to Ukraine than dispose it yourself.

This is the type of shit this woke mind virus having parasite posts about 🤣 5555 🤡
It's sad that some people are so full of hate. Although I can understand boycotting all those companies. I prefer to buy from small family owned businesses. It's ironic that he shows a bottle of non US made cola in the pic. So he's just getting poisoned from another large evil corporation. 🤣🤣🤣
You are also one of the pathetic Nazis. Keep your hate in your own fucking country. We don’t need you to go to Germany and try to get the Nazis back in power. You are despicable.
what a clown you are , ignorant, tiny brain woke goofball 🤡

I use a Skype subscription (have done for many years). For USD $20 per month, I can call almost any phone (both landlines and mobile) on the planet. As an expat who also travels often, this has been an excellent investment.
PS - Bloody hell, you jinxed me! I just received an e-mail from Microsoft, to advise me that Skype is retiring in April.
true move mobile is something very similar, I'm not sure if it's exactly the same, but it's only very cheap, but you dial 006, you may need to enable international calls with your provider.
you use google voice, it let's you choose a US phone number and you call a US number. It's free. you're calling other US phones they don't need google themselves.
i use it. I exported my cell number to google prior to leaving the USA and can call the usa for free, but I have to pay pennies to call other countries.
Ok I understand, I’ve had an account for several years and are still able to call unlimited from Thailand to Norway at 10 USD a month, but as I understand it closes down in may.
i am not interested in a us plan. i want international calls. and i am already using a different app for my calls which is way cheaper
and also the person asking in this group was asking for a possibility to call the us gov. most probably he wont need a monthly plan for a few calls to the us..
Yes I’ve registered that you can’t by credit anymore, but I call unlimited from Thailand to any telephone number in Norway for one month at approximately 10 USD.
