Hi I am coming back to Thailand next week. I need to receive a call from my hospital consultant during my stay. I have a EE pay as you go sim but the call charges are excessive £1.80 a minute!! They cannot call me by whatsapp or messenger I also have a Thai sim card but I do not think they can make an international call. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to receive calls from their hospital consultant while in Thailand, as they find the charges on their EE pay-as-you-go SIM to be too high. They have a Thai SIM card but are unsure if it supports international calls. Suggestions from the community include using Skype for low-cost calls, suggesting that email might be a better option, and considering a phone with WiFi calling capabilities.

Just get them to email , obviously not critical or you would not be travelling?

They will email me with the consultation date but the consultation will be by phone. I do not know yet how critical it will be, but I need to take the call and will fly back if needed
