Hi, I was recently approved for the 6 Month tourist e visa with multiple entry in the US Thai consulate. I will be traveling to Thailand with this visa in the near future. My on fowad ticket is for Cambodia within the first 30 days, but I have plans of staying 90 days in Thailand and then  return to Thailand again with this same visa. So I plan to either change the date of this flight to Cambodia or just buy another one later. My question is since my on foward ticket is for a date that is within the first 30 days, will they only stamp me for 30 days when I arrive to Thailand or will they stamp me for the 60 days? Also I read that I can extend the 60 days to 90 electronically while in Thailand, if I decide to use this service,  how soon can I extend the 60 day stamp to 90 days? Thank you.

FIRST... As you have a METV multiple entry tourist visa, on arrival into Thailand you will be stamped in for 60 days.

You can get a 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht...

ASK your Thai immigration office when you can get the 30 day extension of stay...

Some allow you to get it within 45 days of your stamped in ending date...

Others allow you to get the 30 days extension within 30 days

And a few like Jomtien Immigration only accepts application for the 30 days extension of stay during the last week of your stamped in date.

SECOND... There is NO online 30 day extension of stay... It's only in select offices and even then you are required to Go to the Thai Immigration office to get the 30 day extension STAMP.

I was a little worry about how long it was going to take for the visa to get approved so I decided to apply a little early, it took a little over a month to get the visa approved

You have a great Thai METV visa.

Enjoy your travels to Thailand and SE Asia.

When you get the METV multiple entry tourist visa in your email... PRINT OUT the Evisa... AND show it to the airline on check-in and Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival. Be sure you are STAMPED in for 60 days on arrival.

Keep the copy of the Evisa with you as you travel to make sure you get 60 days STAMP on each entry into Thailand.

that's normal... As they request 15 business days to issue the visas online Evisa application system. And there were several Thai holidays recently.

Suggest you also read the recent post about the METV multiple entry tourist visa.

Remember the 6 months starts with the date of the METV being ISSUED . 🚫 NOT the day you arrive into Thailand.

Immigration won't even ask to see your ticket out of Thailand. You'll be stamped in for 60 days every time you enter during the validity of your visa.

Your airline may ask to see your ticket out of Thailand when you checkin for your flight there though.

ok, so all I have is the pdf page that I printed that has the visa information that they sent me when they approved it. Once I arrive to Thailand the first time, will they attach a sticker or anything to my passport or is it just the stamp?

The pdf IS your visa. Print it and carry it with you for the 6 months it's valid for. You will simply receive an entry stamp each time you arrive. Make sure you give them your printed pdf with your passport and then MAKE SURE after you step away from immigration you check your passport stamp immediately. There are recent reports of people mistakenly getting the 30 day visa exempt stamp. If you notice it now you can get it fixed very easily. If you notice it after you've left the airport it's more difficult to fix.
