TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking clarification on the current visa exemption rules, specifically whether a UK citizen will receive 60 days or 30 days upon re-entering Thailand after a border bounce in Cambodia. Comments indicate that a UK citizen will receive 60 days visa exemption regardless of the entry method—by air, land, or sea.

Don't use Poipet border. They don't like border bounces.

Avoid Poipet they make their own rules

really? I just used Poipet 3 weeks ago without problems.

Where should I go next time? Venetian is a bad choice according to some that had to bribe the officer with 20k baht

yes, avoid Poipet

You would get 60 days entering visa exempt whether by air, land or sea.

way back in the yonder years (2016) there used to be a difference. Now there isn’t.

you should use a "border run" service, the Cambodian/Thailand land borders are known for their corruption. A border run agency makes sure that the "wheels are greased", they are your warrant for a seamless border bounce

i did it yesterday at O'smach. There are "guides" at gate that make it easier. 300 baht tip for a quick peaceful border hop. 500 baht "penalty" for not staying in Cambodia for 24 hours. 1500 baht for Cambodia visa at the border. 30 minutes and I was on my way home.

well, Chong Chom is known to be a relaxed border. However Poipet, Baan Laem and Baan Pakkad should be avoided if you are on your own
