$800k Baht question: Do I have to have the 800,000baht in the bank two months before the extension date on a non-o retirement visa? What happens if I only have it there for one month?!

Let's say my 12 month extension falls on May 15th. And I top up my bank account to 800,000Bhat on May 1st?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for an extension on a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, you must have 800,000 Baht in your bank account for at least two full calendar months prior to the application date. If the funds are only in the account for a shorter period, such as one month before the extension application, you will likely not meet the requirements and your application may be denied.

Your going home or some tea money will be needed urgently 🤣

Is this a trick question?

You seem to know the requirements.

Just apply new initial visa👌
John **********
It needs to be there for two full calendar months before the date you apply for your extension, NOT the date your extension expires.
Frank **********
OMG, have you ever looked at the requirements before because the financial requirement is the same like before.

My buddy only had it in there for a week. He went to renew his visa and they told him it was a big problem that only a ฿13,000 fine would get it done…🤦‍♂️😂🫖💸

yeah, that's how corruption works

Brad Scott still, that's cheaper than an agent 🤔

@Tim ********
well if Immigration can help you out of that misery for just 13,000 THB, it is cheaper than an agent. And it doesn't necessarily mean that you can't apply for the extension in the following year fully legally. If you hire an agent to bypass the rules, you get caught in the hamster wheel and have to use them again and again

in Southeast Asia? I’ve never heard of it…🙄

Yes 2 months before
Chris *******
800k 2 mths prior to extension application

800k 3 mths after approval

400k always never below

If you don't meet these criteria you will start over with a trip out.

and I know some Immigration offices where they will tell him that he went into overstay on the very day he violated against these rules, because his Extension became invalid

Why is not clear to you? You even say it yourself, 2 months before.. So what do you think will happen?? You won't be getting the extension... If you can't put the money in the bank in time? use an agent..
Stuart *********
It has to banked for two months prior. If it’s not you won’t get the extension. Period.
