Sorry if this has been asked before.  I have searched and read posts however, can’t really find an answer.  I currently have an O-A visa based on retirement, the visa expires in January although I have been stamped in until October 2020.  I am returning to the UK in January.  If I forfeit my 'free' second year, can I replace my O-A with a 12 month METV non-immigrant O visa from London.  Many thanks

If not, and if you married, just go Savannakhet or HCMC to get Non O multiple based on marriage.

thanks for your suggestions. I am over here with my wife on a O-A visa. I am looking at options to avoid buying a med insurance now compulsory for that visa. I have international insurance that covers everything however, i can not get directors signatures, so as far as we know can’t be used. I don’t want 2 insurances just as a paperwork exercise so was looking at changing my visa to a non O based on retirement. But needed to have METV as return to the UK

You can opt for a re-entry permit and keep your stay till Oct. valid.

if you leave the country and not come back before the enter before or valid until date mentioned on the visa, the visa will get a history in your passport. You can then apply for a new visa, but in London you can only get the Single Entry Non Immigrant O visa, valid for 3 months and you get 90 days on entry.

i have no idea, more and more Thai Consulate/Embassy are stop selling this visa and tell the people to apply for the Non Immigrant O-A visa which gives you longer stays, or apply inside Thailand for the Extension of Stay.
