Has anyone successfully obtained a residency certificate in Bangkok without completing the 90-day check? I need it to register a car, but I haven’t been in Thailand long enough to meet the 90-day reporting requirement.

If anyone has experience with this or knows of a visa agent who can handle the process, I’d appreciate any recommendations.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Obtaining a residency certificate in Bangkok without completing the 90-day reporting requirement is possible as the previous requirement has been canceled. Expats can obtain the certificate by providing a TM30 form, necessary passport documents, and paying a fee. It can also be helpful to check with the embassy, as some embassies offer assistance in obtaining residency certificates.

Bangkok Immigrations used to be the only office that required you to have done a 90 day report before you could get a certificate of residence πŸ˜•

THEY CANCELLED THAT REQUIREMENT πŸ™‚ (y)

You CAN get a certificate of residence at the main immigration office at the government complex (Building B) out on Chaengwattana Road with just a TM30

You get a queue to section B, have copies of; DTV visa, your entry stamp, your TM30 and the data page of your passport. You turn in a filled out certificate of residence form, pay 200baht and you'll get a receipt with a Thai Post EMS tracking number on it. They mail the certificate to the address you have the TM30 filed via EMS at in about 5 days

You can even make an appointment at the immigration office to just show up and apply for the certificate of residence at this link

You can ask for a residency certificate at your embassy. My embassy (Mexico) helped me with that and I had around 3 weeks living in Thailand. In my case they asked me for the TM30 form, a letter for the purposes I need the certificate for (vehicle registration and drivers license) and a copy of the rental contract with no length requirement (should include landlord contact information and copy of his/her id).
