Can I extend my stay in Thailand for another 30 days after a 7-day stamp as a Taiwanese passport holder?

Unfortunately your best bet is to fly to another country and back. As someone else has already mentioned, Malaysia would seem to be the cheapest and most hassle free (direct flights, visa free etc)

go to malaysia (no visa required for taiwanese) tomorrow ad then back to thailand for 30more days.

Okay the fact that the changed the rule and give taiwanese 30 days doesn't mean they allow them to get 30 day extensions on those entry stamps.

If the immigration office that you use says no, then you don't get a 30 day extension.

There is also some confusion if taiwanese can bounce out and back by land or not to get a new 30 day entry.

That means you either contact a service that bounces people out and back up in Chiang Mai and see what they say

OR

you go to the border with Lao up in Chiang Rai province on your own (Chiang Saen or Chiang Khong) and see if they'll let you bounce out and back.

Worst case they won't and then you need to FLY out and back 😕

On 31 October 2023, the Cabinet of Thailand approved the visa exemption scheme for holders of ordinary passports (or travel document holders) of India and Taiwan to enter and stay within the Kingdom of Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days. The scheme will be effective from 10 November 2023 to 10 May 2024.

You MUST either get the 7 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht or LEAVE THAILAND tomorrow as your permission to stay expires.

Sorry but you got the correct answer from your local Thai Immigration office...

Taiwan passport holders are 🚫 NOT eligible to get a 30 day extension of stay.

AND 🚫 NOT eligible for a land border run.

NOTE this wording...

Taiwan (30days visa exempt from 10th November to 10th May 2024),

Visa on Arrival, when you arrive you will get 15 days, no extension or change of visa category possible. Bhutan, Bulgaria, China (30days visa exempt from 25th September to 29th February 2024), Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India (30days visa exempt from 10th November to 10th May 2024), Kazakhstan (30days visa exempt from 25th September to 29th February 2024), Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan (30days visa exempt from 10th November to 10th May 2024), Uzbekistan, Vanuatu.
