Hi, I would like to know if I were to get a 30 day visa on arrival to Thailand, will I be able to get an extension from the immigration in Thailand, if so how many days do they normally give as an extension? I have an Indian passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend a 30-day visa on arrival in Thailand. Typically, the immigration office grants an extension of an additional 30 days, making your total stay 60 days.
There have been some significant changes to the entry allowances for people from some countries
These are the changes in effect now
๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐, ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฎ, ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐บ & ๐๐ฎ๐ผ <- all on 30 day visa waiver, can now get one 30 day extension to their entry
๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ( Nov 1 - Apr 30) get 90 days, no extension, cannot be converted to any visa inside thailand
๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ต๐๐๐ฎ๐ป (Sept 25 - Feb 29) get 30 day, can get one 30 day extension
๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ป (Nov 10 - to May 10) get 30 days, can get one 30 day extension
That's the changes that are currently in effect, anything else is just thai politicians & gov't people running their mouths for free press :O , no other changes are approved (as of yet)
