DTV advice please

I tried to do all the right things. Rang the Thai consulate in Australia, only got an automated message to email questions instead. Did that and they didn’t answer my main question.

Can anyone who applied through one of the Australian consulates please tell me how long the 500k have to sit in one bank account before you apply? We have savings in several different accounts and I don’t really want to move that money until we have to.

Is it enough to show 3-6 months of statements showing regular income plus transferring the 500k just before applying? Or does it have to sit in one account for 3-6 months?

Also, how many months of statements did you have to submit.

Thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking clarification on the financial requirements for applying for a Thai visa through an Australian consulate. They specifically ask how long the 500k THB must be held in one account before applying and if presenting multiple bank account statements showing regular income would suffice. Responses from the community suggest varying experiences: some state that showing the 500k in the latest bank statement is adequate, while others recommend providing statements from multiple accounts over a longer period.

I applied in Australia and showed one bank statement the latest with the money. That was enough for me.

Bank statements showing a balance of 500k THB from last 2 months. Same rules as LTR

that’s not at all the rules for LTR lol. And the 500k for DTV is a requirement at time of application. The bank statements don’t need to show a continuous balance of 500k

Hi there

I just applied through the embassy in Canberra as I live in Queensland. I uploaded my Australian bank account statements for 12 months to show there was sufficient funds there to live off. The whole process took 10 days to be approved. Hope that helps, if you have a few bank accounts. Maybe upload all of them.

Can you tell me if you had at least 500k in the account for the whole 12 months or was it enough to have the 500k in the account at the time you sent in your application? And did they request 12 months or did you just choose to submit 12 months?

is had more than 500k for the 12 months. And I just submitted 12 months to be safe.

Try asking on the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) group. If you use the search function there’s probably someone who’s applied from the same Thai consulate
