Yesterday we went to CW in BKK to cancel our ED extension of stay and apply for the COVID after a lot of back and forth we received our under consideration stamp and will return on the 26th. 

While there we spoke to officers at counter M about applying for a non-b (business visa) after the COVID extension. We were told this wasn’t possible in country and they even spoke with a supervisor to confirm. 

Had anyone been able to successfully apply for a non-b in BKK coming from the COVID extension?

Unless I'm mistaken you don't apply for Non-Immigrant VISAS at counter M at Chaengwattana (that's who does extensions based on employment for something other than a teacher)

You apply for ALL types of in country Non-Immigrant visas in Section C-1

I'd say when you go back to get your loop closed (change the "under consideration" stamp to the covid extension stamp) after you're done in Section N, go back to the queue counter get a queue for section C-1, go over there and wait your turn and then ask them.

Now be advised they are not the friendliest section out there and they're pretty much no-nonsense, BUT they should be able to give you a hand out that lists the requirements to get an in country 90 day Non-B visa
