Hey guys, I'm Pakistani passport holder and applied DTV in Pakistan but got TR visa instead as in Pakistan, Thai embassy has not issued DTV to anyone till date. I just arrived in Thailand yesterday on TR visa, if anyone (agent, agency) can help me get DTV workation from any neighbouring countries. Please get in touch :) I have a remote job and provide company, contract and employment details

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Pakistani passport holder has obtained a TR visa instead of a DTV visa due to embassy policies and is seeking assistance to apply for a DTV workation visa from neighboring countries. Responses from the community highlight that application processes for certain nationalities may be scrutinized, that visa rejections can affect future applications, and that some agents offer help at high prices. Some commenters suggest that it may be best to wait and strengthen the application before attempting again, given the complex dynamics for Pakistani applicants.

I've yet to hear anything positive about the DTV from so-called "agents". They always say something negative, and usually untrue, about the DTV. Plenty of Pakistani passport holders have already obtained the DTV.

lying, if that's the case then other Pakistani who applied in Dubai, China shouldn't get the visa

The best way is to wait for one year at least building your profile and portfolio before applying again it’s a 5 year visa and not easy mate

7 months with a company is plenty legit with most every embassy

You still wouldn't get it in another country they gave you that one for a reason apparently

As soon as you apply they'll see you've been rejected and given a TR visa

As well as your current TR visa would have to be canceled to apply for the DTV

Again they had a reason to reject and give you

@Muhammad *****
been flagged now regardless I'm sure

you got screwed badly then ! But yeah you'll be denied each time now you've been flagged it is what it is

actually i used the same account to apply for DTV, by which i used to apply in Malaysia for TR. I don't know if that's the reason or whatever.

it's one single entry visa, once i leave Thailand, TR visa ends

There's a Pakistani who got approved by the Thai Consulate in Guangzhou. He obviously must have a Chinese residence permit to apply there. My point is there's hope if you have residency in another country.
Muhammad ******

@Winston ***********
yes, unless i have residency or Work permit, can't apply in majority countries
Tom *****
@Muhammad *****
you can apply in the country where you have a residence, having a better chance of being approved than in your home country

I'd look carefully at all the neighboring country embassy websites to ensure that your Pakistani passport will not be under extra scrutiny or time for the application. Then choose your chosen embassy wisely. In the meantime your 500k can season for a few more months to look like a stronger application.

or i can wait 6 more months, make my case stronger and apply from Pakistan again if things change

When you paid for the DTV Thai E–Visa Fee in-person at the Thai Embassy in Islamabad, did you pay PKR 130,000.- Rupees??

or, did you pay a different amount in-person at the Thai Embassy in Islamabad for your Thai E–Visa Application Fee, such as PKR 13,000.- Rupees or PKR 65,000.- Rupees??

i paid 130,000 PKR.

@Muhammad *****
Did they issue you a Multiple Entry Tourist E–Visa or Single Entry Tourist E–Visa?
Muhammad ******

@Dca ****
single entry, first they said will give multiple entry, then said you had a TR visa rejection last year in KL, so our system not allowing you to give Multiple entry so you'll get single entry. It's all too crazy in Pakistan. They think everyone goes there will not come back and do scam etc... made up own reasoning

I live in sungai-kolok. I see every-day a lot of people from different countries go to Malaysia illegally and Thai police and immigration is involved in it and take money from them. I have seen passports of some people who are clearly banned in Malaysia but when they arrive to Thailand on visit visa at Bangkok airport, they take $300 from them and let them go and then those people also go to Malaysia by Thai border, pay to immigration officers again at border. Idk when this corruption will stop. They love money so much.

The problem is for certain nationalities, the approval process is done centrally and not by the embassy. I believe this includes Pakistani passport holders. Therefore, I believe if you applied via a neighboring country, your application would end up in the same central office in Bangkok that already rejected your last application.

@John ******
Secondly,there’s no restriction on any country, everyone can apply for DTV as long as they fulfill requirements. However, it’s totally depends on the embassy how they are dealing with DTV. As I am Pakistani passport holder and I I got DTV in 2 days from Thai embassy Canberra, Australia.
Fati ******
And this also indicating that there’s no centralised system because if the system is centralised then why they granted DTV to me if they’ve the restrictions on specific countries. Lastly, after we applied for DTV, and we received the receipt of payment, you can see clearly on the receipts that mentioned the address of specific embassy.
Tom *****
@Fati *****
Do you reside in Australia or Pakistan?
Fati ******
@Tom ****
Australia
Tom *****
@Fati *****
it is the fact that you reside in Australia that made your application stronger compared to a Pakistani citizen residing in Pakistan
Fati ******
@Tom ****
Yes that's true, but I was just talking about rule that there's no special/specific rule which restrict any specific nationality to apply for DTV.
John *******
@Fati *****
- You are actually incorrect. According to various embassies, there is additional vetting for certain nationalities, which is why they say rhe process takes longer. In addition to the review conducted by the embassy, they are required to get reviewed/approved by a central office in Bangkok.

no rules, just nationality game or you have to be a hot shot in your field with far more money than 500K that's being sitting in your account for much more time

they said, we can either reject or can change your visa type, when i applied it says DTV, now it says TR visa on website.
Fati ******
@Muhammad *****
I have heard this type of case before many times from many applicants even some from US.
Fati ******
@Muhammad *****
Yes, actually they were not willing to grant you DTV (in other hand DTV application was rejected), so they just given you a little bit favour to grant you tourist visa just because you paid them THB

15,500 baht in Pakistan you have to pay for DTV, first they were giving me 6 months multiple entry but last year i had a TR visa rejected in kuala lumpur, reason "already granted 2 TR visa in the same year " so we cannot give you, but i returned to Pakistan and applied fot TR visa and got it. So after being told i will get multiple entry, they called me and said because you had a visa rejection in Kuala Lumpur so you'll not get multiple entry, we will give you single entry visa.... i said but i got a TR visa from Pakistan after that refusal and they said we are not debating, just informing and hanged up.
Fati ******
@John ******
sorry mate, it’s not like that as you’re mentioning, when we are applying online the very first option is Location (mean embassy) and what location and embassy we select, application directly go to that specific embassy. So this is not centralised system. Yes the website is centralised but when we select location and the embassy, then application directly goes to that country’s embassy, like in this case he selected current location Pakistan and his application go directly to Royal Thai embassy Islamabad.

when i got interviewed by the embassy head, he said that he has the authority to give visa or not. Ofcourse he has to be answerable to the headquarter. But as they haven't issued DTV in Pakistan yet so he was looking for a strong profile, for me he said you only been working since past 7 months with this company and the money was in your account for last 2 months so your overall application is not strong.
John *******
@Muhammad *****
- Ok, previously, you mentioned it had gone to the consular department in Bangkok and that the embassy said they have no say. I assumed it was the consular department in Bangkok that rejected your application.

yeah, they just twist their words, one says this and the other says something else. But that's what the head said to me and even mentioned that Pakistani goes and overstay, go to Cambodia and do scams so we have to think about every situation.

@Muhammad *****
- not sure what Thai government employees care what one does in Cambodia. Sounds like they are just giving you excuses
