I am currently in the process of changing universities. The current ED cancellation letter is dated 31 May. Can I apply for a COVID extension before that date (I understood the present COVID extension ends on 28 May) to bridge the time until the new university will issue my ED visa? Or do I have to cancel it on the exact same day as stated in the letter? For clarification: there will be approximately a 2-weeks gap from the old ED to the new one, and I am looking for options to not overstay.
Thank you in advance for your kind support.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about applying for a COVID extension for their ED visa, which is set to be canceled on May 31, but they want to start the extension process earlier, as they anticipate a two-week gap before receiving a new visa from a different university. A comment suggests canceling the ED visa early and applying for a 60-day COVID extension to bridge the gap.
go cancel early, they will stamp you in until the date on the letter, apply for a 60 day covid extension and then see if the new university can get the documentation together so you can apply for a new extension based on study straight off the covid extension.
