I am pretty sure this has been asked before, but can't find a post with the answer; is it a sure thing that a Canadian doing a border hop by land, after being here on a thirty day exemption, then a thirty day extension, can get another thirty day exemption?  I am planning to do this at Mae Sai crossing.  Thanks in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

30 days land border crossing....go to immigration pay ฿1,900 for a 30 day exemption stamp....do land border crossing for 30 days....go to immigration pay ฿1,900 for 30 day visa exemption stamp....that should cover Jan, Feb, Mar, April....then go and buy a 60 Day SETV visa...then pay ฿1,900 for a 30 day visa exemption stamp at immigration...that should cover May, Jun, Jul...

He means 2 x exempt , 30 days each, and extending both by 30 days, giving a maximum of 120 days using visa exempt entries.

Tomorrow is the 1st of the year...so you get 60 more days on a land border crossings or 120 days of you do land border, ฿1,900 stamp at immigration, land border, ฿1,900 stamp at immigration...good luck

You get 30 days when you reenter Thailand (just went on a Burmese whiskey run yesterday with a few friends). Also pick up some Burmese whisky in tachileik too.

Bring $10 or 500 baht for tachileik permit.

Yes you will get 30 days. Be aware that you can only do 2 land border visa exempts per calendar year.
