Hello All !

Belgian citizen on 30-day “visa free” entry, 10 days in atm and wondering if I automatically get 30 new days as soon as I exit (and re-enter) the country ? How long should I spend outside Thailand ?

Or is it better to extend for another 30-days before they expire ?

Thank you for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Belgian citizen under a 30-day visa-free entry can obtain a 30-day extension for 1900 baht instead of relying on exiting and re-entering Thailand. It is advisable to visit the immigration office for an extension, as simply crossing the border may raise suspicions at passport control. Using a service for border bouncing is a recommended option to ensure smooth re-entry.

Depending on where you are in thailand AND what border you think you're going to cross and return from I'd say it's cheaper for you to go to the immigration office in your area and take the 30 day extension for 1900baht.

Take the 30 day extension and if you need more time after that then think about border bouncing, but pick the border carefully OR use a service to bounce you out and back so you don't get hung up on the border comin' back in.

There is no "how long should I spend outside" you aren't fooling anyone at passport control, they'll know you only left the country so you could milk a new free stamp entry, so just use a service to bounce you out and back. That way you'll skate right back in

ok, noted. Thank you for your reply!

I was thinking about flying to Penang, Malaysia and stay for a few days and then come back to Bangkok.

I would still say if your goal is to stay IN thailand that you should take the 30 day extension before you try to do some border bounce

I'd say you're better entering the country by LAND not flying back in after a few days to either Bangkok airport because they are starting to get really hard on people who they think are staying here milking free entry stamps 😮

understandable, is the visa extension option limited to one time only or can it be repeated 2,3,.. times ?
