TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, most visa types for Thailand, including tourist, business, study, and NON-O visas, can now be applied for online through the e-visa system. While the majority of applicants do not need to visit the embassy in person, a few consulates still require an in-person payment. Additionally, applicants usually must be physically in the country where they are applying until the visa is granted or denied. There are exceptions, such as a few specific embassies that still ask for a personal visit.

The only THREE embassies I know of that still require an in person visit are Vientiane & Savannakhet in Lao and Yangon in Burma. You have to GO to those consulates to pay in person after you file the online eVisa application

All the rest have the online application and pay portal meaning you don't go to the consulate

You DO have to be in the country of the thai consulate you're applying at and you do have to remain in that country until the visa is approved or rejected before you come back

Yes everything's online but there is possibility you could be called in for an interview

But be aware that you must be in the country when you apply.

correct, though a couple of consulates ask you to pay in person.

wow…cooool!! Do u which consulates they are and if they ask for passport?

you can't apply without your passport. Embassies require you to be in the country of the embassy you apply through and can ask for entry stamps, copies of all pages of your passport and so on. They can also ask you in for interview where you would need to show the passport
