Go to Gov.uk website and it takes you through a series of questions, in essence you have 2 options a visitor visa which I believe is 6 months or apply for permanent status which can be very protracted.

David - we married in Bangkok marriage office - it is the process for me applying for the marriage visa that my question was posing.

, I was only in country for 3 weeks and with the earliest wedding date being 3 days before I had to return to UK - tried to apply for marriage visa while in UK and the online system kept coming back with complicated documents.
