TM30 must e made with 24 hours of your arrival into the country. If staying at a hotel it is their responsibility. If staying in guest house it is still owners responsibility but often they do not do it and you are likely for a fine of 1600 baht.

you are very lucky. Never worked for me in 10+ attempts. Nong Nooch garden and Floating market are the few exception.
