I've done a lot of visa runs, extensions, including land border runs in Laos and Myanmar. But I've been mostly living out of Thailand for over a year, but still visited and extended. When I use this passport I get asked what I'm doing in Thailand. Should I not get a DTV until I get a fresh passport? Or is this not a problem?
Looking for someone who was on a student visa in 2024 and is now on a DTV visa now 🙏🏼 because I saw on a French group someone who has to pay taxes on the years he spent in Thailand
Question, I had a few years of education visas. Been like 6 months. I’m back in the states and getting a new book. Can airport immi see past history of previous books if I have a new book?
Hello I have an American passport. I'm 30 years old. I have been on 2 education visas, 1 volunteer, 1 work permit and then different border runs and tourist visas on this current passport.
I have been told I'm not allowed to make another visa with my passport until I get a new one.
I have 20 days left on this visa and then I can do a border run for 45 days (from what I've been told).
Questions:
• can I simply go to the border and cross out and then easily come back in? Is anything required to do that other than my passport? I am in phuket and probably will go to Malaysia?
• can I get a new passport if I still have 5 years until it expires?
• if I can will they transfer all of the previous visas or just current?
•in 45 days, what if US embassy hasn't finished my new passport and it overseas before I received my passport? Any info on making new passport?
• would leaving to another country and going to that American embassy be of any use so they don't transfer all of the information?
Almost 5 months stay all up with the 30+30 initial and then the 60+30 TV
(Only entry before that was a 2.5 week holiday January 2019)
Im coming back in a month. I’m fighting Muay Thai at a decent level and would love to get an education visa however it is a bit out of my price range at the moment
I plan to get a tourist visa next week in brisbane and enter at DMK on that
With that previous history (I know it’s not a lot compared to some people), could it cause problems at immigration?
Is there another way? I’ve thought of flying into neighbour country and crossing by land but costs a lot more
Sorry Tod, I know you closed the comments on an earlier post of this story but I think it's important to acknowledge "recently" embassies and consular affairs were given access to immigration systems- thus now when applying for Visas using new passport to hide previous history of travel will not work - they can now see everything!
yesterday i landed at don mueng with my fifth tourist visa obtained at vientiane. the fifth was stamped with a remark that this was my last tourist visa. A don mueang immigration did not want to let me go. After long discussion the reponsible asked me to buy a plane ticket out of thailand no later than November 30 is just 30 days. in the end I left with my passport stamp until December 31 is my 60 days visa .... my questions are so do you think I can stay until December 31 and then extend my passport to 30 days cheang watthana and then do 2 visas run? and then, with a new passport, could I do it again or does immigration have my history in mind?
