Hello, I am a Canadian who arrived on a 30 day Visa on Arrival which will expire on May 5th. I have received a teaching job offer and I need to extend my visa in order to allow time to get all the requirements I need (police clearance, medical check etc). I have a trip planned to get my new visa to process work permit on May 28th if I go to Immigration can I extend my VOA for another 30 days? I’ve looked online and have heard you can only extend a VOA for 7 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am hoping that someone will help me with my answer:

Should I apply for 60 days single entry tourist visa and then get 30 days extension at Koh Samui for 1900 BAT?
Then should I do a visa run and get another 30 days extension? After that extension, can I extend for 30 more days at Koh Samui or do I have to leave the country again?
What is the best and easiest way to spend 5 months in Thailand visa wise?
