30 Day Embassy Request Extension Process

Okay people, let's get you guyz and gurlz understanding this "30 day embassy request" extension on this current amnesty.

No matter when you apply (from now until next Friday) you will eventually get the extension dated until Oct 26

As a rule this embassy request extension is a two step process.

When you apply you will get an "under consideration" stamp that has a date you return to the immigration office. In fact (if anyone would bother to read the stamp) it TELLS you to return to the office on that date :O

When you go back on that date they will give you the "extension of stay" stamp that will be dated until Oct 26th.

This is a complete "set" of an under consideration stamp AND an extension stamp.

Regarding the provision (clause 2.28) in the current Immigration Order 327/2557 concerning the extension of stays that allows immigration to give 30-day extension “based on embassy request”:

Has anyone tried to get one of these letters from Embassy of USA?

Also, a story posted on a non-government website says "some immigration offices may issue the extension without the embassy letter as long as you are able to show proof of cancellation of your flight." Has anyone tried this? Which office and what happened?
